Oh hey! It’s been a minute. That’s because last week was very much an off week for me in more ways than one. Stress, anxiety, irritability, and mood swings were ruling my life and it was truly awful. The good news is it’s over now and I worked with my doctor to figure out what was causing it. Premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Woof! It felt good to get to the bottom of the issue and now I have tools to help me manage it in the future. I am looking forward to a life with less anxiety, irritability, and freak outs very soon!
One thing that has always helped me feel better through any thing is CRAFTS. It is always nice to have a creative outlet and feel like I’ve accomplished something when I am feeling down. But, when I am bogged down in anxiety, it’s hard to do anything super complex and detailed. Thus, this dollar store craft was born! It is crazy easy and will only cost you $2 in supplies!
dollar store craft: easy diy framed butterfly art
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Dollar Tree Frame with Matte
Dollar Tree Butterfly Wall Stickers (I got the blue watercolor ones)
One sheet of card stock
Paper Cutter or Scissors
1. Remove the back of the frame and use the stock photo sheet as a guide to cut your cardstock to size.
2. Peel and stick the butterflies of your choosing to the cardstock. I used a ruler at the top to help me keep them center.
3. Stick your butterflies where you’d like them.
4. Reassemble the frame
5. Voila! Enjoy your new, very inexpensive framed art!
This would be very cute with a colored matte, but I was going for a more minimalist look. At these prices, you can definitely experiment with different styled mattes and colors of cardstock.
Super quick, easy, and cheap craft and the end result is so cute! Share your dollar store frame crafts with me in the comments below or on Instagram, please!
