We did a thing last weekend! If you have been following along on Instagram, you probably know just how much I HATED the glued-on mirror that adorned one of the walls in my living room. We have been living with it for two years now and we just couldn’t stand it anymore! So, we got to work and our easy diy shiplap wall was born!Read More
I’ve got the midweek blues, in more ways than one! If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know I had quite the time painting ONE navy blue wall in our bedroom last weekend. Long story short -I didn’t get enough paint, it took me way longer than I anticipated, and I went over budget. I’m happy to report that it ended up worth all the drama, because I am OBSESSED with my navy blue accent wall.Read More
Last weekend, I posted on Instagram about how bored I am with our home’s aesthetic and how I am ready for another renovation project. J & I have been discussing installing hardwood floors, painting our cabinets, and installing new counter tops. While all of that is really exciting, I couldn’t help but feel a little sad, because we pulled off a really amazing low budget DIY renovation when we moved into this home in 2017. It wasn’t perfect and it was very low budget, but we put lots of blood, sweat, and tears into it and although it was difficult at the time, I look back on it fondly. So, today, I want to tell you all about our 2017 renovation and how I managed to turn our ugly forest green counter tops into pretty white “marble” ones. This was one of the biggest DIY challenges I’ve personally tackled and replacing them will definitely be bittersweet.Read More
If I’m being completely honest, I don’t love decorating for holidays. Which may come as a shock to some of you, but seriously … it’s such a pain. You only leave it up for a short while, the trends change from year-to-year so it can get costly, and I rarely have guests or host any kind of gatherings so .. what’s the point? My dear sweet husband LOVES Christmas, however, and he gets excited about decorating every year. So, I push my grinch-ness aside just for him.Read More
Anyone ever put off a home project because you just weren’t sure what the heck to do? I can relate.
Our little home was built in 1970 and it is most obvious in the bathroom. We have an avocado green bathtub and tile shower with a lime green tile floor. I absolutely love how much character it has, but I knew it would need a carefully planned and whimsical makeover. When we moved into our home in March 2016, I painted half of the vanity white and then decided I didn’t like it. Then, I didn’t do ANYTHING with it until last month (over 1.5 years later). Oops.
