A Little Paint, Big Impact | Navy Blue Accent Wall

A Little Paint, Big Impact | Navy Blue Accent Wall

I’ve got the midweek blues, in more ways than one! If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know I had quite the time painting ONE navy blue wall in our bedroom last weekend. Long story short -I didn’t get enough paint, it took me way longer than I anticipated, and I went over budget. I’m happy to report that it ended up worth all the drama, because I am OBSESSED with my navy blue accent wall.

I discovered Kelly Leveque’s book Body Love. I wish I could hug her because this book has really educated me and transformed the way I eat. If you are tired of feeling tired or ready to lose some extra pounds, Kelly’s approach will help you. She explains the science behind it all and blends it with a much less rigid approach than most “diets”. Her approach is really a lifestyle shift, not a diet, because it is sustainable and you don’t feel deprived. I could go on and on about this, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. Get the book!

While all of that is really exciting, I couldn’t help but feel a little sad, because we pulled off a really amazing low budget DIY renovation when we moved into this home in 2017. It wasn’t perfect and it was very low budget, but we put lots of blood, sweat, and tears into it and although it was difficult at the time, I look back on it fondly. So, today, I want to tell you all about our 2017 renovation and how I managed to turn our ugly forest green counter tops into pretty white “marble” ones. This was one of the biggest DIY challenges I’ve personally tackled and replacing them will definitely be bittersweet.

intentions & visions for 2019

Happy 2019, friends! I feel like it’s already going by so quickly, I can’t believe we are on day 10! I hope it’s been wonderful for you so far. It’s been a whirlwind for me with my full-time job and my constant side hustling, but it has also been very positive. I didn’t have much of an opportunity to reflect on 2018 and focus on my intentions for the new year before it got here, so I carved out some time this week to do just that.
